Man Arrested For Stealing Truck, Guns, & Catalytic Converter

ASHEBORO N.C. – The Sheriff’s Office announced they made an arrest of an individual accused of stealing a truck with several guns inside last month.

On January 10, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 7000 block of NC HWY 49 South in Denton for a report of a vehicle theft. The victim told police that a truck containing several firearms had been stolen from the business.

The Asheboro Police Department located the stolen truck on January 20, 2022. A press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says officers found the truck in the possession of Caleb Hunter Reeder who was arrested for Felony Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and transported to the Randolph County Jail. The bed-mounted toolbox and the catalytic converter had been removed from the vehicle. All the firearms were also missing. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team- Urban Unit also charged Reeder with Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Felony Larceny of a Firearm.

The Sheriff’s Office says they are continuing to investigate the case and Reader is set to appear in Randolph County District Court on February 28, 2020.
