Man Arrested On Warrants From Two Agencies For Sex Crimes

ASHEBORO N.C. – A local man was arrested on warrants from both the Randolph County Sheriffs Office and the Asheboro Police Department for alleged sex crimes involving a child.

On December 22, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report of a sexual offense allegedly committed by Luis Enrique Torres. That investigation led Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division to seek charges for two counts of Felony Indecent Liberties with a
Child, Felony Statutory Sex Offense with a Child, and Misdemeanor Harassing Phone Calls.

The Asheboro Police Department had also obtained warrants for Torres for Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child and Felony Statutory Sex Offense with a Child.

On March 18, 2022, Torres was located, arrested and transported the Randolph County Jail where he was served the warrants from both agencies. He was held on a $250,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for March 21, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
