ASHEBORO N.C. – Last night deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal stabbing at a home in Thomasville.
On March 29, 2022, at around 10:00 pm, the deputies were called to a home on Reddy Foxx Ln. in Thomasville after getting a call about a stabbing. Police say when they arrived the located a man on the porch of the home suffering from stab wounds. The victim, who police identified as Randy Hunt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The resident, Fred Thomas Dyles, Jr., who was also the one who called 911, identified the victim as his neighbor. Dyles reported that Hunt had attempted to break into his home and he had stabbed him.
Detectives and CSI responded to the scene and after the investigation, Detectives sought a warrant for Dyles for Second Degree Murder. Dyles was taken to the Randolph County Jail where the magistrate issued a $20,000.00 secured bond and scheduled a court appearance for March 30, 2022 in Randolph County District Court.

UPDATE (March 30 2022): Following a first appearance in court, the bond for Dyles was raised to $100,000 with the addition of electronic house arrest if released.
