Cargo Container Catches Fire At Asheboro Recycling

ASHEBORO N.C. – No injuries were reported after a cargo container at Asheboro Recycling caught fire last Friday.

On April 22nd 2022, just after before 4 pm, fire crews from Asheboro, Ulah, and Eastside Fire Department’s were dispatched to the Asheboro Recycling Center on Southmont Dr, in Asheboro for a report of a fire. When firefighters arrived they found a cargo container at the corner of the property ablaze.

Smoke from the fire could be seen east of Asheboro. According to Samantha East, Public Information Officer with the Asheboro Fire Department crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of fire is undetermined.
