Couple Wanted For Carjacking In Craven County Arrested In Franklinville

ASHEBORO N.C. – A couple wanted for a carjacking in Craven county were arrested today in Franklinville after a 911 call for a suspicious person led deputies to them.

According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 15th, 2022, at around 8 am, deputies were dispatched to Millboro Rd in Franklinville for a call about a suspicious person. The caller told police that a male and female were on the front porch and they looked like the subjects that had been associated with an assault and carjacking in the New Bern area of Craven County.

The Craven County Sheriff’s Office had issued warrants for both subjects for felony common law robbery, felony larceny of a motor vehicle and felony assault on a disabled person. An alert had been sent out to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office about the incident since both suspects were believed to be in Randolph County.

When deputies arrived neither subject were still on the porch, but police say that they located both suspects a short time later inside of a building on the property.

Danny Lee Minor and Kimberly Elizabeth Woodell were arrested on the warrants from Craven County.
Woodell also had a warrant for arrest for felony interfere with an electronic monitoring device, and orders for arrest for felony probation violation and failure to appear.

Police say after being arrested they found marijuana paraphernalia on Minor. A short time later, the vehicle from the carjacking in New Bern was located nearby in a wooded area on Bethany Church Rd.

Both subjects were transported to the Randolph County jail where they were served their warrants and orders. Minor was issued a $115,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court. Woodell was given a $122,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.

A court date has also been set for both in Craven County for April 25, 2022, on charges incurred
there.
