ASHEBORO N.C. – Police say they arrested a man following a vehicle chase where he tried to flee on foot after the motorcycle he was driving without a license or plate broke down during the chase.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says on April 23rd, 2022, they were involved in a pursuit with a male on a motorcycle on Roseway Rd. in Trinity after he tried to flee from police who had tried to pull him over.
The driver who identified in a press release as Michael Richard English, was forced to bail on foot on Beeson Farm Rd, after his motorcycle “developed mechanical issues”. Police say English jumped from the motorcycle and proceeded to flee on foot before being quickly apprehended. Following him being captured deputies say a search located methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
English was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for felony flee to elude arrest, felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, no registration plate, no motorcycle endorsement, resisting public officer, failure to stop for a posted stop sign, failure to maintain lane control, and driving left to center. English was given a $50,000 secured bond plus Electronic House Arrest (EHA) upon meeting bond conditions. His first court date is April 25, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
