It’s getting colder, leaves are turning, pumpkins are in stores and it’s time for some Halloween Events. Below is a list of events from our event calendar. (Know of an event we missed? Let us know)


Family Friendly Events


Boo at the Zoo

Saturday & Sunday – October 15 & 16 and October 22 & 23

Celebrate the excitement of the season with a weekend of safe daytime Halloween fun!

Cost: $5 Zoo Members, $8 Non-Members. Purchase Boo at the Zoo wristbands at both the North America and Africa entrances or Junction Plaza entertainment ticket booth. Boo at the NC Zoo is NOT included with general admission. Boo ticket sales will end at 2:00 p.m. each day of the event.

Trick-or-Treat in the Park

October 29 @ 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM / FREE

Trick or Treat in the Park is here. Please remember the event takes place on North Street in front of the Asheboro Recreation Center! This is a traditional walk thru event. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sheriff’s Office – Trunk-or-Treat

October 29 @ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM / FREE

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is hosting their third annual Trunk or Treat in their parking lot at 727 McDowell Rd., Asheboro, on Saturday, October 29th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm (or until we run out of candy). Citizens are invited to bring the kids out for treats.

Halloween Party

October 29 @ 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM / FREE

Halloween Party, sponsored by the Young Adult Class. Saturday, October 29th, 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall and on Church grounds. There will be Food, Games, Hayride, Haunted Trail, Dessert walk, etc. The costume contest will start at 5:30 pm sharp. Free for Adults and Children.

Dia del Muerto

October 30 @ 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM / FREE

Dia el Muerto (All Soul’s Day) Mexico- Is a tradition of remembrance for our ancestors. We will be decorating altars with our ancestors’ pictures, candy, flowers. There will be a contest for Altars and Catrinas (Cash prizes), vendors, folk dances.

Asheboro Historic Downtown Ghost Walk

October (Ever Tuesday) @ 6:30pm and 8pm / $20

Every Tuesday in October the City of Asheboro will be hosting its Historic Downtown Ghostwalk. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on the Rec Center website or in person at the Rec Center located on Sunset Ave. Tours start from the Rec Center.
