Man Tells 911 Woman Attacked Him Before He Shot Her in Trinity Shooting

ASHEBORO N.C. – A woman is in stable condition according to the Sherriff’s Office after being shot this past Saturday in Trinity.

On October 8, 2022, at approximately 11:06 am, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a gunshot wound near the intersection of Roy Farlow Rd. and Archdale Rd. in Trinity.

According to released 911 audio, a man who called 911 said he had stopped on Roy Farlow Rd to give an unknown female with no shoes walking on the side of the road, a ride to the local fire station. He told operators that while she was in the car there was a confrontation where the female grabbed an impact driver tool from the floorboard and began assaulting him with it. The confrontation led to the car coming off the road and ending up in a field before the man said he pulled out his gun and fired one shot, hitting the female in the head. The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the man’s story and the incident, and are not releasing details at this time.

EMS and Fire Dept crews responded and the female was flown by Air Care to an area hospital. Crime Scene Investigations and Criminal Investigations also responded to process the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the names of either the male or female at this time. According to the Sheriff’s Office as of Oct 10th 2022, that female is in stable condition.
