One Dies in Single Vehicle Accident in Franklinville

FRANKLINVILLE N.C. – A local woman died from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident in Franklinville last week.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, at 7:48 p.m. on Friday, May 12th, 2023, Troopers responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Clark Avenue near Allred Street in Randolph County.

Kaslyn Marie Switzer, of Asheboro, N.C., was traveling east on Clark Avenue operating a 2014 Toyota. Troopers who investigated the scene reported that Switzer traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a tree.

Switzer suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to Moses H. Cone Hospital
in Greensboro. Later that evening, investigators were notified that Kaslyn Marie Switzer had succumbed to the injuries she received during the crash.

Investigators do not believe that speed or impairment contributed to the crash and are uncertain as to why Switzer traveled off the roadway and the collision is still under investigation.

According to an online obituary Switzer, aged 24, was an employee of Asheboro City Schools, and the family requests in lieu of flowers that school supplies and library books be donated to Lindley Park Elementary, Donna Lee Loflin Elementary and Charles W. McCrary Elementary.
