At around 6:17 a.m. emergency crews responded to a single vehicle accident on Providence Church Road near Oxendine Road. First responders with the Level Cross Volunteer Fire Department reported one person was pinned in the vehicle and preformed a quick extraction before transferring care to Randolph County EMS. ASHEBORO — An early-morning fiery crash in Asheboro has claimed the life of a local woman, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. At 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, troopers with the Highway Patrol were dispatched to a vehicle crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Mountain Top Drive. According to a press release, 24-year-old Alvaro Cabrera Gudino, of Asheboro, was driving on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in a Honda minivan when she traveled off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox, a utility pole, and a tree. ASHEBORO N.C. — A local teenager was airlifted following a crash yesterday evening that shutdown US-64, according to the Highway Patrol. Just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28th, 2024, the State Highway Patrol was called to respond to a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 64 near Loflin Pond Road.  According to a press release from the Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old driver in a 2011 Honda SUV attempted to turn left onto U.S. Highway 64 from the Dollar General PVA and collided with a 2020 Toyota Pickup. The teen driver was severely injured and was airlifted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, Troopers with the NC Highway Patrol responded to a crash on US 64 near Westbury Drive. Investigators say that a black 2017 Lexus RX 350 SUV passed a 2016 Toyota in a turning lane, resulting in a collision that sent the Toyota off the roadway to the right, striking an embankment, and a tree. The Lexus SUV fled the scene. The 38-year-old female driver of the Toyota was transported to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital for serious injuries. A vehicle crash has shutdown I-73/74 in both directions near exit 66 (New Hope Church Rd). Map from DriveNC According to drivenc.gov a vehicle crash between mile-marker 68 and 69 has shutdown traffic on I-73/74 in both directions in Randolph County at Mile Marker 12, Near Seagrove / New Hope Church Road. Current estimates say the interstate may not reopen until 5 p.m. We are still reaching out to authorities for details of the crash and no information is currently available. According to photos published by Alex Perdue News on Facebook traffic is being diverted off the highway at exit 68 New Hope Church Rd on the southbound lanes. At 6:53 a.m. West-Side Fire & Rescue along with Ash-Rand Rescue, and Randolph County EMS were dispatched to NC 49, near Oak Hollow Drive for a two-vehicle accident. First responders arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with multiple patients, including one patient who was pinned-in a vehicle. ASHEBORO N.C. – Two men are facing charges for assaulting first responders earlier this week and the dangerous incident highlights the hazards first responders can face. On January 7th, 2024, at around 6 a.m. Randolph County 911 received a 911 hang-up with yelling in the background. Operators were attempting to call the number back, when around three-minutes later, another 911 call came in from a neighbor stating that a male subject had come running into their residence covered in blood saying he had been assaulted by someone he lived with. ASHEBORO N.C. - A convicted felon with a shotgun strapped to his motorcycle was arrested after crashing into a patrol vehicle earlier this week, according to police.  On December 5th, 2023, a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was on a call on Clifton Dr. in Archdale. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, a motorcycle traveling south on Clifton Drive with no headlights struck the deputies patrol vehicle in the rear.  The operator, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Thurman Earl Sampson, came to rest in front of the vehicle and was evaluated by Randolph County EMS.  While inspecting the damage to the vehicles, the deputy located a shotgun strapped on the motorcycle, and discovered that Sampson, the driver, is a convicted felon.  ...

RANDLEMAN N.C. - A driver was charged with driving under the influence last night after crashing into a bar in Randleman.  At around 10:30 p.m., Randleman Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into Red Zone Sports Bar & Grill, located at 725 S Main St, in Randleman.  Emergency crews arrived to find a dark GMC SUV that had crashed through a gate and into the east side of the building. Randolph County EMS responded to the scene to evaluate the driver, who refused transport to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.  The Randleman Police Department investigated the crash, which led to 27-year-old Peyton Alley Clark being issued a summons for driving under the influence.
