Two Arrested in Connection with Vehicle Chase in Trinity last Month

ASHEBORO N.C. – Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with an April vehicle chase in Trinity.

On April 22, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says their deputies were involved in a vehicle chase and manhunt in Trinty. According to a press release, deputies initiated a traffic stop on Finch Farm Rd., in Trinity. The vehicle failed to pull over and began swearing on and off the I-85 South ramp before heading onto the Interstate, At one point the deputy leading the chase says they observed the passenger, later identified as Kendall Taylor Rogers, and driver, later identified as Ethan Bradford Chambers, change seats.

When the vehicle came to a brief stop on the side of the interstate, Chambers, now the passenger, exited the vehicle and fled on foot into the wood line. The Sheriff’s Office says that they learned that Chambers had two outstanding orders for arrest out of Randolph County for failure to appear.

With Chambers out of the car fleeing on foot, the vehicle accelerated again continuing the chase before, coming to a stop just before the Davidson County line.

Police say when the vehicle finally did stop, suspects in the vehicle were given for the subjects to exit the vehicle and they complied.

During an inventory of the vehicle, police say they located Chambers’ inmate ID

The High Point Police Department responded with a K9 to track Chambers, but was police were unable to locate him.

A rear passenger was released and the suspect in the front that had changed seats with Chambers, Kendall Taylor Rogers was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for several charges, including fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and driving while license revoked. She received a $5,000 secured bond and is set to appear in Randolph County court on a second appearance on May 19th, 2023.

A warrant obtained for Chambers for felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor driving while license revoked, misdemeanor reckless driving – wanton disregard, misdemeanor resisting public officer, rear lamps violation, and for failure to maintain lane control. On May 5, 2023, Chambers was located in Guilford County, arrested and transported to the Guilford County Jail where he was served and issued a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 31st, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
