LIBERTY N.C. – Nightly closures are planned for a stretch of U.S. 421 in Randolph County this week so contractors can work on a bridge.
Monday & Tuesday
Southbound US-421 will be closed with a detour on Monday (8/21/23) and Tuesday (8/22/23) nights from the hours of 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM to allow crews to set bridge girders for the construction of a new bridge at the Julian Airport Road interchange currently under construction.
South Bound traffic will detour onto Shiloh Road and will follow Shiloh Road back to US 421 South Bound. Detours will be signed to assist motorists.

Thursday & Friday
Northbound US 421 will be closed on Thursday night (8/24/2023) and Friday night (8/25/2023) between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. to allow crews to set girders on a new bridge currently under construction at the new Julian Airport Road interchange.
Motorists on Northbound US 421 will take Julian Airport Road to Old US 421 and then take a left on Old US 421 to NC 62 North. Take a left on NC 62 North and follow NC 62 North to US 421 North.
