Sheriff’s Office Seizes 44 Pounds of Cocaine from Traffic Stop

TRINITY N.C. – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says their Criminal Interdiction Team located and seized forty-four pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop over the weekend.

On August 20th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 85 north near mile marker 109, in Trinity.

During that stop, officers say they located approximately forty-four pounds of cocaine in the “trunk area” of the vehicle.

The driver, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as 60-year-old Antonio Argentine Shaw from Virginia, was arrested and has been charged with two counts of Felony Trafficking in Cocaine.

Shaw is currently being held at the Randolph County Detention Center with a $500,000 secured bond and a first appearance set for August 21, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
