Sheriff’s Office Charges Man with Embezzling from Local Baseball Club

ASHEBORO N.C. – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has charged a local man with embezzling several thousand dollars from a local baseball club.

On October 14th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into suspected embezzlement after receiving a report from a local community baseball club.

According to a press release, that investigation led to investigators charging 37-year-old Jesse Lee Martin from Denton, NC, with one count of Felony Embezzlement on August 10th, 2023.

According to court records, Martin is accused of embezzling $3,600 from the Cedar Grove Baseball Club, a local little league organization.

On August 11th, 2023, Martin was taken into custody at the Randolph County Detention Center and served the warrant. The magistrate issued a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Martin was scheduled for his first appearance today, August 14th, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
