Four Suspects Found in Vacant Home Arrested

ASHEBORO N.C. – Four suspects who were found in a vacant home in Archdale were arrested last weekend and charged with breaking and entering.

On April 29th, 2023, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Zelma Blvd., in Archdale. According to information released by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, when deputies arrived, they located and detained four suspects who were inside the residence.

When deputies contacted the property owner, they advised they were in the process of removing the home and that no one should be inside.

As a result, all four suspects, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Brandon Lee Grimmett, Chris Broughton, Mary Lucas Rendle, Johnny Johnson Crouch, were arrested for misdemeanor breaking and entering and transported to the Randolph County Jail. Grimmett and Broughton were issued a $1,000 bond.

Rendle was also charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and was issued a $2,000 secured bond.

During the booking process Crouch was found to be in possession of a schedule I controlled substance on jail property and was additionally charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance,
misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Crouch received a $3,000 secured bond for his charges.
