ASHEBORO N.C. – Two people were airlifted after a on NC 49, near Oak Hollow Drive, early Saturday morning.
At 6:53 a.m. West-Side Fire & Rescue along with Ash-Rand Rescue, and Randolph County EMS were dispatched to NC 49, near Oak Hollow Drive for a two-vehicle accident.
First responders arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with multiple patients, including one patient who was pinned-in a vehicle.
The North Carolina Highway was notified and responded to investigate the crash. According to a press release, Tracy Bryant Hill, 35, of Asheboro N.C., was traveling northeast in a 2015 Toyota passenger car when she crossed the center line and collided with a 2018 Jeep SUV head-on.
Hill and a passenger in the Jeep SUV were airlifted. The driver of the Jeep SUV and another passenger were transported by EMS to Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Troopers say they have charged Hill with careless and reckless driving.
The accident closed a stretch of NC 49 near Oak Hollow Drive for approximately three hours, re-opening at 9:47 a.m.
