Pedestrian Taken To Hospital After Being Struck By Vehicle On Sunset Ave

ASHEBORO N.C. – A pedestrian was taken to the hospital late Saturday night after being struck by a driver off of Sunset Ave in Asheboro.

According to an accident report by the Asheboro Police Department, the collision occurred on Saturday Nov 13th 2021 just after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sunset Ave and Dixon St. Police say the driver, Juan Carlos De of Asheboro, was making a turn off of Sunset Ave and on to Dixon Ave when he struck a 68 year old male crossing the road heading home to the apartments on Sunset Ave. Police charged the driver with failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian and for driving without a license. The report said drugs / alcohol were not a factor in the accident.
