Accident scene on I-73/74 Southbound at Presnell St. (Scott Pelkey / North State Journal) ASHEBORO N.C. — A multi-vehicle accident has shut down I-73/74 southbound near the West Presnell Street exit. Just after 5 p.m. Randolph County 9-1-1 received multiple calls about several vehicles involved in a collision on I-73/74 near the Sunset Ave exit. Asheboro Fire and Rescue and Westside Fire Departments were dispatched and located two accident scenes. Two vehicles, including one overturned blocking both lanes of travel, were located on I-73/74 at the West Presnell Street exit.
