ASHEBORO N.C. - An investigation into fentanyl by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office resulted to a multi-agency drug investigation leading to a Randolph County man facing felony trafficking charges. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 1st, 2022, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that police say was operated by Jarvis James Siler. During a search of that vehicle the Sheriff's Office says they found a trafficking amount of Fentanyl and MDMA (the active ingredient in Ecstasy) was seized. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Asheboro Police Department has announced today that they have charged four individuals in connection with the shooting of a 17 year-old on Millikan Ave back on March 19th 2022. In a press release sent out today, the Asheboro Police Department announced that on the March 29th 2022 Detective L. Johnson with the Asheboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division secured charges on four individuals for the shooting of a 17 year-old juvenile which occurred back on March 19th 2022 on Millikan Avenue in Asheboro. ASHEBORO N.C. - The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT) which operates the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), has announced there has been a settlement in the class-action lawsuit filed back in May of 2018 by several groups including the ACLU on behalf of drivers who lost their licenses because they didn’t pay fines. Over the next 60 days the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NC DMV) will be contacting more than 185,000 drivers whose licenses were revoked for their failure to pay fines and other court costs. Rabies vaccinations will be available for your pets on  Tuesday, March 29, 2022. The clinic will be held during regular business hours at the offices of the  participating veterinarians. The cost is only $10.00 per dog or cat.  The best way to protect your pet and family is to have your pet vaccinated. On March 18th 2022, Officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to Glenwood Rd in reference to a welfare check on a male subject. Officers spoke with the homeowner who said there was a male subject standing by the creek on his property. On December 22, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report of a sexual offense allegedly committed by Luis Enrique Torres. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man who led police on a vehicle chase was arrested early Saturday morning after police pulled over the "getaway vehicle" that had come to pick him up. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, on March 19, 2022, at around 3:00 am, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to pull over a motorcycle on Finch Farm Rd., in the Trinity area. The driver failed to stop and a led police on a chase. On Bescher Chapel Road the driver fled into a field, ditched the motorcycle and fled on foot. Police setup a perimeter in the area and conducted traffic stops on vehicles. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, on Saturday, March 19th, 2022, at approximately 10:58 PM, officers responded to Randolph Health in reference to a gunshot victim.
