Snow Forecast For Friday – Winter Storm Warning Issued [UPDATED]
ASHEBORO NC [ARCHIVED] - All week meteorologists across the triad have been closely following the forecast models trying to figure out what's going to happen on Friday. Now the National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Randolph County starting at 1 AM Friday night through 1 AM Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service office in Raleigh, Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches with isolated areas to 3 inches are possible beginning Thursday night through Friday night.
In a briefing posted online the National Weather Service says where the snow does accumulate snapped trees and subsequent power outages are possible. Black ice is expected Saturday morning, mainly where slushy accumulations have occurred.
