ASHEBORO N.C. - One person was taken to the hospital after flipping his motorcycle in Trinity last night. According to information released by the State Highway Patrol, on Tuesday, March 21 st , 2023, at 8:17 pm Troopers responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Mt. Gilead Church Road near Hoover Hill Road in Randolph County. Justin Gray Hall, aged thirty-six, from Sandy Ridge, N.C., was traveling west on Mt. Gilead Church Road operating a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Troopers say he traveled left of center and left the roadway causing his motorcycle to overturn. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man was taken to the hospital after being shot and then hit with a car on Dennis St in Asheboro yesterday. According to information released by the Asheboro Police Department, on March 21st, 2023, just before 8:30 am, officers responded to 1928 Dennis Street in reference to a gunshot/assault. When police arrived on scene they determined the victim, Jareem Xavier McBryde, had been taken to a local medical facility by his girlfriend. "Preliminary information obtained on-scene indicated the victim was shot inside 1928 Dennis Street and then exited the residence. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on March 2nd, 2023, the departments Vice and Narcotics Division searched a residence on Sunset View Dr. in Archdale, NC. During the search, detectives located and seized a trafficking amount of Methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia, leading to charges for four individuals. According to police and arrest reports obtained by Randolph News Now, on March 4th, 2023, the Departments VICE/Narcotics unit executed a search warrant at 741 S Church St. Police say they seized 15.1 grams of a white powder that field-tested positive as fentanyl, 22.4 grams of marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia and just over $700 in cash. At 11:20 a.m. on Monday, March 6th, 2023, the State Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on NC 134 at Center Cross Church Road. Troopers say 58-year-old Balvantbh Thakorbhai Patel, of McLeansville, N.C., was traveling west on Center Cross Church Road in a 2021 Toyota Highlander. Patel failed to stop at the intersection at NC134 and was struck by a truck-tractor, pulling a semi-trailer. Patel died on-scene. ASHEBORO N.C. - Last week a manhunt triggered a massive police presence on the 64 Bypass near the Zoo Connector Rd. On March 3rd, 2023, around 5 p.m. deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office observed Steven Wayne Golden, a wanted suspect, on a bicycle on Staley's Farm Rd, near the Zoo Connector and attempted to contact him. Golden attempted to flee on the bicycle but crashed into a guardrail on the bridge before fleeing on foot into a wooded area, leading to a manhunt and a massive police presence in the area. On February 22nd, 2023, just before 6:30 pm, an officer with the Asheboro Police Department was called to the McDonald's at 1436 N Fayetteville St for a report of a male and female slumped over in a vehicle in the parking lot. ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect who allegedly robbed a McDonalds in Asheboro didn't make it far before being arrested last weekend. According to a police report from the Asheboro Police Department, on Sunday, Febuary 19th, 2023, just after 9 pm, officers responded to the McDonalds at 773 W Dixie Dr for a report of a robbery in progress. An employee told officers that a black male wearing white shirt, black hoodie, and blue jeans had entered the business and stolen an unknown amount of cash and they believed the male was armed with a handgun.
