According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, on May 7th, 2022, deputies, and first responders were called to the area of Dawson Miller Rd., and US 220 Business in Asheboro for an accidental gunshot wound involving a juvenile. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local woman was arrested after police say she was possibly attempting to sell narcotics at a local high school. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 27th, 2022, School Resource Officer received information that a female was possibly attempting to sell narcotics in the parking lot of Wheatmore High School. Deputies located the female, whom they was identified as Tracy Boone Peele. The Sheriff's Office says their investigation revealed that Peele was in possession of narcotics packaged for sell. ASHEBORO N.C. - Asheboro police are investigating two calls for discharging firearms, including one where two vehicles were struck last Sunday and Monday. On April 24th 2022 just before 5 pm, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to Walnut St for a call about shots fired in the area. According to a report officers secured and searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect or victim. A witness on scene told police the incident had happened an hour prior and police ended up taking a report for documentation. On April 18, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to McNeal St, in Asheboro for a report of a burglary in progress. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police say they arrested a man following a vehicle chase where he tried to flee on foot after the motorcycle he was driving without a license or plate broke down during the chase. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says on April 23rd, 2022, they were involved in a pursuit with a male on a motorcycle on Roseway Rd. in Trinity after he tried to flee from police who had tried to pull him over. The driver who identified in a press release as Michael Richard English, was forced to bail on foot on Beeson Farm Rd, after his motorcycle "developed mechanical issues". ASHEBORO N.C. - A woman was arrested yesterday on a traffic stop for a warrant of indictment from the Randolph County Grand Jury. Rona Lee Brown According to information released by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, during the February session of the Randolph County Grand Jury, a True Bill of Indictment was issued on Rona Lee Brown following an investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Unit which say they seized approximately 59 grams of Methamphetamine. The indictment issued for Brown was for Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine (2 Counts) and Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance. On April 22nd 2022, just after before 4 pm, fire crews from Asheboro, Ulah, and Eastside Fire Department's were dispatched to the Asheboro Recycling Center on Southmont Dr, in Asheboro for a report of a fire. When firefighters arrived they found a cargo container at the corner of the property ablaze. Smoke from the fire could be seen east of Asheboro. According to Samantha East, Public Information Officer with the Asheboro Fire Department crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of fire is undetermined.

ASHEBORO N.C. - Two adults and a juvenile have been charged in connection with an armed robbery of the Biz Center on US Hwy 311 in Archdale last month. On March 25th, 2022, at approximately 6:28 am, deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Biz Center on US Hwy 311 in Archdale. According to the Sheriff's Department surveillance video showed one black male enter the business followed by two additional black males One suspect robbed a customer of the business of money and a cell phone while the other two suspects pointed a gun to an employee demanding cash and other items. A few seconds later, all three males entered the office, two of which were holding guns and pointing them at the employee, forcing him back into the gaming area to remove all additional cash from the machines. ...
