ASHEBORO N.C.  – The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of central North Carolina, including Randolph County. Here is what you can expect. A period of light freezing rain is set to impact the northern Piedmont, mainly along and north of I-85, from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Here in Randolph County, forecasters are predicting around 0.02” of ice accumulation. Temperatures will remain right near the freezing point through the morning hours on Saturday and any freezing rain is expected to transition to rain by 4 a.m. Total rainfall for Saturday is expected to be around half to three quarters of an inch. NWS Warns of Freezing Conditions in Randolph County for Tuesday Night

ASHEBORO N.C. - The National Weather Service Office in Raleigh has issued a Freeze Watch for Randolph County for Late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with temperatures expected to dip into the low 30's. According to forecasters at the National Weather Service Office in Raleigh, a cold front will move through the region tonight, followed by light rain from an upper disturbance overnight through Tuesday evening. High pressure will then build into the area behind the cold front, bringing the coldest air so far this season. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 possible in Randolph and surrounding counties late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. LEVEL CROSS N.C. - After surviving a plane crash in April of this year and spending 5 months in the hospital, Jimmy Foecking was greeted by friends and members of the community as he returned home today. On April 11th, 2023, Foecking was one of two people in a single-engine Vans RV-12 aircraft that crashed into a hill on the side of US Hwy 421, south of Greensboro Executive Airport in Guilford County just after 11 a.m. According to a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the pilot had taken off at 11:03 a.m. and conducted a touch-and-go landing before landing back at the airport and picking up a passenger. ASHEBORO N.C. - Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Raleigh have issued a hazardous weather outlook warning of possible severe thunderstorms, strong winds, and localized flooding for Wednesday. Almost all of central North Carolina including the Triad was placed under a level 2 "slight risk" by the Storm Prediction Center. Meteorologist say Wednesday afternoon, likely around 3 pm, is when they expect to see the greatest threat of severe weather. Parson’s parental rights had been terminated. An alert was sent out with anyone who had any information asked to call 911, the sheriff's office or crimestoppers. ASHEBORO NC - Police say they located 72 grams of meth after a vehicle chase and manhunt between Climax and Julian last month, and now two people are facing charges in connection to the incident. According to a statement by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on June 5, 2021, one of their deputies tried to stop a car on Ramseur Julian Rd., near Sandy Creek Church Rd. Police say the driver wouldn't pull over and started to lead deputies on a pursuit. During that chase the vehicle turned left onto Randolph Church Rd. going towards NC 22 and came to an abrupt stop near the intersection of Holder Farm Rd when a male subject, jumped out of the front passenger side of the car and ran on foot before the car took off again.
