ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect wanted in a sex crime case in Colorado was located and arrested in Asheboro last week. On August 24th, 2023, a detective with the Boulder Police Department in Boulder, Colorado, contacted the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) about locating Nehemias Lopez, who was wanted on a Felony Sexual Assault-Physically Helpless charge.   Boulder Police Department had been actively looking for Lopez for several months and believed that Lopez had fled from Colorado to Asheboro, NC. Wanted Man Located Sleeping in Randleman Barn

ASHEBORO N.C. - Deputies located a man with multiple warrants sleeping in a barn in Randleman earlier this week. On April 16, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Stanton Farm Rd. and Hockett Dairy Rd., in Randleman, to locate wanted subject, Steven Lamar Hughes, Jr. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, Hughes was located sleeping in the loft of a barn and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served with three orders for arrest out of Davidson County and received a $7,500 secured bond. Fugitive From Randolph County Captured by Bondsman In West Virginia

ASHEBORO N.C. - A Randolph County man wanted for escaping house arrest was located in West Virginia this week where he was captured by a local bail bond company. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 28th, 2022, the Electronic House Arrest Officers received notification that Jerry Allen Harlow, Jr. had removed his monitoring device. Harlow was placed on electronic house arrest on September 10th, 2020, for multiple Felony Sex Offenses. Deputies responded and were able to locate the monitoring device along the roadway near Harlow's registered address on Harlow Rd., in Archdale.
