A Randolph County Deputy Chased a Vehicle on Foot, Arrests Driver
ASHEBORO N.C. - A Randolph County Deputy chased a vehicle on foot that was trying to flee and arrested the driver who was likely feeling a bit of déjà vu.
On August 21st, 2023, while performing routine patrol in the area of Little Gate Dr., in Asheboro, a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office spotted a vehicle parked beside the railroad tracks.
According to a press release the deputy stopped to investigate and located a male subject, identified as Gregory Allen Walker, who was found asleep inside the vehicle.
The deputy woke up Walker, obtained his ID, and went back to his vehicle to run the ID when the Sheriff's Office says Walker began to drive away on a trail into the woods.
