Human Remains found in Staley Linked to Missing Person
ASHEBORO N.C. - Human remains found in Staley earlier this month have been identified as a missing person from 2021.
On February 8th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Shady Grove Church Rd. in Staley after receiving a call that a citizen had located human remains while walking in a wooded area.
According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, human remains along with identifying articles were recovered by investigators and sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.
On February 14th, 2023, the State Medical Examiner’s Office made a positive identification to be those of Steven Tyler Tuttle.
