ASHEBORO N.C. - A man from Lexington is facing multiple charges after the Sheriff's Office says he held a woman against her will overnight in his vehicle. On April 21st, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Meadow Ct., in Trinity, for a report of an assualt. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, the victim reported that Roy Lee Evans, of Lexington, had held her against her will inside his vehicle throughout the night and assaulted her. Evans reportedly released her around 7:00 am and was told to leave. She was discovered by other people in the residence when they awoke and called 911. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local pastor and former christian school administrator was convicted in a Davidson County Court this week of sexual activity with a student dating back to 2008. On Friday, June 7th 2019, a detective with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office meet with a victim from a 2009 investigation. The former student, now an adult, re-reported allegations of a sexual assault that they had made several years prior when they were a student at Union Grove Christian School (UGSC) in Lexington.
