Lexington Man Facing Felony Kidnapping Charges

ASHEBORO N.C. – A man from Lexington is facing multiple charges after the Sheriff’s Office says he held a woman against her will overnight in his vehicle.

On April 21st, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Meadow Ct., in Trinity, for a report of an assualt.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, the victim reported that Roy Lee Evans, of Lexington, had held her against her will inside his vehicle throughout the night and assaulted her.

Evans reportedly released her around 7:00 am and was told to leave. She was discovered by other people in the residence when they awoke and called 911.

The victim was evaluated by EMS who urged the victim to be seen at the hospital for her injuries

Deputies sought warrants on Evans felony assault by strangulation, felony first degree kidnapping, misdemeanor assault on a female and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

On April 23, 2023, Evans was located in Davidson County, arrested, and transported to Davidson County Detention Center where he was served the warrant and issued a $75,000 secured bond.
