Sheriff’s Office charges man charged with indecent liberties

Hugo Ruiz Mendez ASHEBORO — Following a tip and investigation the Randolph County Sheriff's Office charged a suspect with a sex offense involving a minor. According to a press release, on February 8th, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report of a possible sex offense involving a minor. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against Hugo Ruiz Mendez for felony indecent liberties with a child. On April 23, 2024, Mendez was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant. The magistrate issued a $15,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 24, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.

Fort Bragg Soldier Arrested for Sex Crime in Liberty

LIBERTY N.C. - A Fort Bragg soldier is in the Randolph County Jail tonight after police say he traveled to Liberty after soliciting sex with a child. In April of 2023, Liberty Police began an investigation regarding a sex crime involving a child. That investigation revealed that a Fort Brag solider had agreed to pay a family member for sex with a handicapped child. On May 6th, 2023, the soldier, identified by police as Schuyler Grant Naves, was arrested when he arrived in Liberty. He is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond at the Randolph County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Randolph County Court on June 2nd, 2023. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced they have recently charged three individuals with sex offenses involving minors. Juan Jose Figueroa Jimenez Juan Jose Figueroa Jimenez was charged with felony crimes against nature and three counts of felony indecent liberties with a child after the Sheriff's Office received information about sexual offenses on December 15, 2021 that led them to start an investigation. On February 12, 2022, Figueroa-Jimenez was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail where he was given a $100,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for February 14, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
