ASHEBORO N.C. - Charges are catching up with the driver of a stolen motorcycle with active warrants who fled from police late last month. In a press release the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says that on September 22nd, 2023, a deputy attempted to pull over a motorcycle on Turnpike Rd., in Archdale, but the driver failed to stop leading to a pursuit. That chase continued to the intersection of Meadowbrook Road and Kennedy Road where the Sheriff's Office says the driver slowed down and appeared to be turning right, before losing control and crashing into a ditch on Kennedy Road across from Meadowbrook Road. ASHEBORO N.C. - Off parole for less than three months, a 23-year-old suspect is again facing multiple felony gun, drug, and fleeing charges after leading police from two counties on a nearly hour long pursuit early Sunday morning. In the early morning hours of September 3rd, 2023, a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff’s was patrolling on US Hwy 220 S, near Asheboro, when they spotted a motorcycle with no license plate that shut off its lights off and made a turn on Crestview Church Rd. At around 2pm on Saturday June 10th, 2023, emergency crews responded to a report of a 2-vehicle crash in front of the McDonalds at 1436 N Fayetteville St, in Asheboro, N.C. According to an accident report by the Asheboro Police Department, Ashley Renee Phillips was attempting to make a left hand turn out of the parking lot of McDonalds onto N Fayetteville St (US 220 Bus) but failed to yield for an oncoming motorcycle. ASHEBORO N.C. - The driver of a motorcycle who tried to flee from police Sunday was arrested after crashing his motorcycle. On April 9th, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to pull over a motorcycle near US Hwy 220 S. According to a press release, the driver fled onto Old State Highway starting a vehicle pursuit and onto US HWY 220 S. from Virgil Hill Road where he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed. Police say the driver, who was identified as Richard Anthony Vestal, Jr fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Randolph County EMS responded to evaluate Vestal and he was transported to Randolph Health for evaluation. At the hospital, a search found suspected illicit drugs. ASHEBORO N.C. - One person was taken to the hospital after flipping his motorcycle in Trinity last night. According to information released by the State Highway Patrol, on Tuesday, March 21 st , 2023, at 8:17 pm Troopers responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Mt. Gilead Church Road near Hoover Hill Road in Randolph County. Justin Gray Hall, aged thirty-six, from Sandy Ridge, N.C., was traveling west on Mt. Gilead Church Road operating a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Troopers say he traveled left of center and left the roadway causing his motorcycle to overturn. ASHEBORO N.C. - A driver is facing multiple charges after police say instead of pulling over he gave them the bird before he tried to flee, crashing his motorcycle, and trying to run from the scene last Friday. According to a report from the Asheboro Police Department on June 10th 2022, an officer and trainee working with the departments patrol division spotted a white male on a motorcycle on N. Fayetteville St. near E. Burns St. The report says officers witnessed the driver swerve towards the right of the road at Presnell St before swearing back on to N.
