Photo provided by Dollar General RAMSEUR N.C. - Earlier this week a bomb threat closed the Dollar General in Ramseur early and now police are asking anyone with information to contact them. On July 10th, 2023, Ramsuer Police and first responders were dispatched to the Dollar General Store located at 6493 Jordan Rd. According to police, an unknown subject called into the store requesting to speak with the manager who they told there was a bomb in a specific area of the store. Employees evacuated the store and called 911. Multiple searches of the store were conducted by officers and nothing suspicious was located. The business closed early due to the incident. Anyone who has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sgt Cox or Detective Zogopoulos.

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Ramseur Police Department is asking for help from the public to gather information in an investigation after responding to a seriously injured person found in theroadway. On November 21st, 2022, at about 6:15 AM, officers responded to a seriously injured person found in the roadway on US Hwy 64 at the intersection on Liberty St. View Larger Map "After exhausting all leads to this point, we are asking anyone who was in the area and observed anything to contact us. You may contact Capt Jessup or Officer Smith at 336-824-8663," said the department in a press release. Information may also be submitted by calling Randolph County Crime Stoppers or submitting a tip through the P3 Tips app. A reward may be considered for information leading to an arrest.

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Ramseur Police Department say they have charged a Randleman man with first degree murder after a child died from suspected abuse. On Aug 31st, 2021, Investigators with the Ramseur Police Department received a call from the Randolph Health Emergency Department about a 14-month-old child that had sustained serious injuries related to suspected child abuse. That child was being transferred to Brenner's Children's Hospital's Pediatric ICU. Despite undergoing surgery on Sept 5th, 2022, the child succumbed to its injuries.
