All Eight Poodles from Animal Cruelty Case Last Year Find New Homes

Credit - Happy Hills Animal Foundation ASHEBORO N.C. - Just over a year ago, the Happy Hills Animal Foundation rescued a group of eight poodles from what they called "a backyard breeding situation that had gone horribly wrong." Today, all eight poodles have new homes, and the criminal case is wrapping up. In March of 2022, Animal Control officers were called out for several dogs running loose around a neighborhood in Sophia. The owner of the property, identified by the Sheriff's Office as Michael Alan Meier, was issued an animal cruelty notice by Randolph County Animal Services. Human Remains found in Staley Linked to Missing Person

ASHEBORO N.C. - Human remains found in Staley earlier this month have been identified as a missing person from 2021. On February 8th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Shady Grove Church Rd. in Staley after receiving a call that a citizen had located human remains while walking in a wooded area. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, human remains along with identifying articles were recovered by investigators and sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. On February 14th, 2023, the State Medical Examiner’s Office made a positive identification to be those of Steven Tyler Tuttle. Liberty Man Arrested On Trafficking Charges

ASHEBORO NC - A Liberty man was arrested in a parking lot in Staley on drug trafficking charges. That's according to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. They say on March 10th, 2021, the departments Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of Cocaine in the Liberty / Staley area. Detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Liberty. A search warrant was also executed on a vehicle that was parked at a business in Staley. During the search, detectives say they located and seized a trafficking amount of Cocaine, items of drug paraphernalia, and US Currency.
