Christopher Tre'Lonnie Everette ASHEBORO NC – A driver on a traffic stop was arrested last week after according to police he tried to toss a stolen gun into the woods. That's according to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. They say on on August 7, 2021, deputies pulled over a car on I-73/74 just south of the US 64 Bypass. While the deputy was speaking with the passenger, the driver was seen throwing something it into the tall grassy area on the side of the highway. When deputies searched that area they found a firearm that had been reported stolen to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office. ASHEBORO NC - A man is facing charges for allegedly possessing a stolen firearm and drugs after going through a license checkpoint last Friday. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's office, on May 7, 2021, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a license checkpoint on Vision Drive in cooperation with the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. Deputies encountered a subject who they identified as Musin Shaborr Roberts.
