On April 25th, 2023, at around 3:30 pm, Randleman Fire Department and Randolph County EMS were dispatched to the Wendy's located at 1029 High Point St, in Randleman for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into the building. According to an accident report from the Randleman police department, the driver was attempting to park in front of the restaurant when she accelerated running over the curb and sidewalk and striking the building before driving off. ASHEBORO N.C. - One person was taken to the hospital after flipping his motorcycle in Trinity last night. According to information released by the State Highway Patrol, on Tuesday, March 21 st , 2023, at 8:17 pm Troopers responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Mt. Gilead Church Road near Hoover Hill Road in Randolph County. Justin Gray Hall, aged thirty-six, from Sandy Ridge, N.C., was traveling west on Mt. Gilead Church Road operating a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Troopers say he traveled left of center and left the roadway causing his motorcycle to overturn. ASHEBORO N.C. - An Asheboro man was killed in a fiery single vehicle accident overnight according to the NC Highway Patrol. At 10:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 7th, 2022, the State Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Bell Simmons Road near US 220 Business in Randolph County. According to Master Trooper Brian Martin, Troop D Public Information Officer, 69-year-old Michael Ray Cranford of Asheboro, N.C., was traveling west on Bell Simmons Road in a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero SUV. Cranford traveled off the road to the left and struck a tree when Cranford’s vehicle caught fire. Cranford was unrestrained and ejected during the collision and later died on scene. RANDLEMAN N.C. - A bicyclist was airlifted in critical condition this evening after being struck while crossing the street in front of Sir Pizza in Randleman. According to officials on the scene at 6:42 pm Randolph County 911 dispatched the Randleman Police and Fire Departments along with Randolph County EMS to 413 S Main St. A 911 caller reported a bicyclist who was crossing the street was struck by a vehicle. Randleman firefighters arrived on scene at 6:45 pm, just 3 minutes after they were dispatched, and the victim was transported to the practice field located behind Randleman High School where UNC Air Care landed to pick up the patient. ASHEBORO N.C. - A driver is facing multiple charges after police say instead of pulling over he gave them the bird before he tried to flee, crashing his motorcycle, and trying to run from the scene last Friday. According to a report from the Asheboro Police Department on June 10th 2022, an officer and trainee working with the departments patrol division spotted a white male on a motorcycle on N. Fayetteville St. near E. Burns St. The report says officers witnessed the driver swerve towards the right of the road at Presnell St before swearing back on to N. ASHEBORO N.C. - Two children died, and a their mother was seriously injured overnight in a vehicle crash on I-73, north of Asheboro. Just before 1 a.m, on Monday May 30th 2022, first responders with Westside Fire Department and Randolph County EMS were dispatched to an unknown vehicle accident on I-73/74 northbound, at the Spero Rd exit. As dispatchers gathered more information they learned it was a single vehicle accident with two children severely injured. (Photo Contributed By Annette Jordan) ASHEBORO N.C. - Troopers say a local man driving under the influence lost control of his vehicle last night resulting in life threatening injuries. According to the NC Highway Patrol, just before 2 am on May 20th 2022, Troopers were called to a single vehicle accident on US Hwy 64 near Mount Shepherd Rd. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Juan De Medina-Garcia of Asheboro, was traveling west on US Hwy 64 when he went off the right side of the roadway, over corrected, before traveling off the road on the left side of the roadway and overturning. Medina-Garcia sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by EMS to Moses Cone Hospital.
