Man Arrested In Connection To Assault Where He Tied Up Victim

ASHEBORO N.C. — A convicted felon was arrested yesterday in Thomasville in connection with a November assault where the Sheriff’s Office says the he broke into a home, assaulted the victim, and tied them up.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says in a press release that on November 17th 2021, their deputies were called to a home on Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd. in Asheboro after getting a call from a victim who said they had escaped being tied up at the home. The victim stated they knew the suspect and identified him as Kevin Andrew Blue. According to police Blue broke into the home, assaulted the victim and tied them up. The victim was released when another person entered the home, that’s when the victim was able to flee and call 911.

Sheriff’s deputies searched the area when they arrived but were unable to locate Blue who had fled the scene. The Randolph County Sheriffs Office opened an investigation which led them to seize firearms owned by Blue, who is a convicted felon.

Following that investigation as well as another prior incident already under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, a deputy went before the magistrate who issued warrants for two counts of Felony Assault by Strangulation, Felony Felonious Restraint, Felony First Degree Kidnapping, two counts Misdemeanor Communicating Threats, Misdemeanor Assault w/Deadly Weapon, and Misdemeanor Assault on a Female. Warrants were also issued for Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon separately.

On December 30th, 2021, Blue was arrested by the Thomasville Police Department and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center where a bond was denied due to the charges being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for January 5, 2021, in Randolph County District Court.
