ASHEBORO N.C. – Two men are facing charges for assaulting first responders earlier this week and the dangerous incident highlights the hazards first responders can face. On January 7th, 2024, at around 6 a.m. Randolph County 911 received a 911 hang-up with yelling in the background. Operators were attempting to call the number back, when around three-minutes later, another 911 call came in from a neighbor stating that a male subject had come running into their residence covered in blood saying he had been assaulted by someone he lived with. As the phone call continued the 911 telecommunicator, learned the other male subject was attempting to get into the home and they could hear screaming. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man has been arrested on and charged with multiple felony assault charges after the Sheriff's office says they were called to a stabbing last Friday in Franklinville. On July 23, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to the area of Rockie River Street and US Hwy 64 E, in Franklinville, responding to a 9-1-1 caller stating that someone had been assaulted. Once deputies, Randolph County EMS and Franklinville Fire Department arrived on scene, it was determined that the victim was suffering from numerous injuries, including a stab wound. ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect has been charged with Felony Assault after police say the found a victim unconscious in a home in Ramseur. According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on May 23rd, 2022, deputies with the patrol division responded to Fox Grove Rd., in Ramseur, after getting a call about an assault. When emergency crews arrived they located the victim unconscious inside the residence. Fire and EMS provided medical treatment before transporting the victim to an area hospital. ASHEBORO N.C. — A convicted felon was arrested yesterday in Thomasville in connection with a November assault where the Sheriff’s Office says the he broke into a home, assaulted the victim, and tied them up. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says in a press release that on November 17th 2021, their deputies were called to a home on Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd. in Asheboro after getting a call from a victim who said they had escaped being tied up at the home. The victim stated they knew the suspect and identified him as Kevin Andrew Blue. According to police Blue broke into the home, assaulted the victim and tied them up. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office at around 9 a.m. this morning they responded to a call about an assault at the Dollar General on Hwy 62 in Trinity. A 911 caller had reported that the victim had come into the store asking for help stating he had been shot and his car stolen. Randolph County EMS transported the victim to an area hospital. ASHEBORO NC - The Sheriff's office arrested a man in connection with an assault call where an individual had to be taken to the hospital after being shot with a cross-bow. According to information released today by the the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to a call about an assault on BB Trail in Asheboro back on October 2nd, 2021. They found the victim with a wound to the abdomen. The Sheriff's office says that Christopher Troutman reportedly shot the victim with a cross bow and then had fled the scene on foot before they arrived. ASHEBORO NC - A mother and son are in jail today after police say a confrontation over stolen items led to a shooting in Thomasville. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on June 26th, 2021, at around 10:40 pm, deputies responded to a report of an assault on Stonehenge Road in Thomasville. When they arrived they found a gunshot victim lying in the road on Fuller Mill Road. That victim, who has not been identified, was airlifted from the scene in critical condition. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on March 10th, 2021, deputies were called to the area of Robbins Country Rd. in Trinity to check on someone.They located a man sitting on the front porch of the residence who was police say was apparently impaired by an unknown substance and unable to provide his name.
