ASHEBORO N.C. – Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s office are trying to determine what started a house fire Sunday that sent 3 people to the hospital.
According to the Randolph County Fire Marshal’s Office, on Sunday at 11:35AM crews from Staley, Liberty and Franklinville Fire Departments responded to a call for a residential structure fire on White Lake Dr. When firefighters arrived they found a working fire at a single story home. At the time of the fire there were 7 adults in the home. All occupants were able to exit the structure. One occupant was transported to the hospital by Randolph County EMS with burns to the lower legs and two others were transported for smoke inhalation. The American Red Cross was called to assist in finding the residents a temporary place to stay. Fire crews operated on scene for over 3 hours.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Randolph County Fire Marshal.
