ASHEBORO N.C. – A man who led police on a vehicle chase was arrested early Saturday morning after police pulled over the “getaway vehicle” that had come to pick him up.
According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on March 19, 2022, at around 3:00 am, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to pull over a motorcycle on Finch Farm Rd., in the Trinity area. The driver failed to stop and a led police on a chase. On Bescher Chapel Road the driver fled into a field, ditched the motorcycle and fled on foot.
Police setup a perimeter in the area and conducted traffic stops on vehicles. The suspect who police identified as Dakota James Foley was located during one of those traffic stops in a vehicle that had come to picked him up. Foley was taken to the Randolph County Jail and charged with Felony Flee to Elude, Speeding, Left of center, No Liability Insurance, Driving While License Revoked, No headlights, Careless & Reckless, Fictitious Tag, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and issued Dakota a $10,000 dollar secure bond. A first appearance was set for March 21, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
