ASHEBORO N.C. – A suspect arrested after a family fight where he tried to assault the victims with a knife was arrested just 4 hours later when he returned to the home and threatened the victims with a gun.
According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, On April 10th, 2022, at around 7:00 pm, deputies responded to Acts Temple Dr. in Randleman for a call about a family fight in progress.
When police arrived they say victims and witnesses reported that Ricky Shannon Housand had tried to assault the victim with a knife. Housand was arrested and taken to the Randolph County jail, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon. Housand was given a $2,500 secured bond with a first appearance scheduled for April 11, 2022, in Randolph County District Court. He was also ordered not to have contact with the victim.
Just 4 hours later deputies were again called to the home at around 10:00 pm, when according to the Sheriff’s Office Housand returned to the residence, retrieved a gun from a closet, pointed it at another subject, and threatened them. When deputies arrived Housand placed under arrest again. He was taken back to the Randolph County Jail and the magistrate found probable cause for the charge of felony intimidating a witness, misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, and misdemeanor violation of the court order to not have contact with the victim.. He was given a $15,000 secured bond with the same court date for his first charge.
