Homeowner Finds Half Naked Man Trying To Steal ATV

ASHEBORO N.C. – The Sheriff’s Office says a local homeowner called to report a burglary after he arrived home to find a man wearing only a blanket trying to steal their ATV.

On July 25th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Driftwood Dr., in Archdale, after receiving a call about a burglary in progress.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, when the victim returned home along with finding his dogs had been let out and his ATV was missing from his carport, he also noticed a man in the woods without any clothing on.

When deputies arrived and went to the to the rear of the home they also noticed a white male, later identified as Thomas Zachary Hall, this time wearing only a small blanket wrapped around his waist standing next to the ATV.

Police say Hall appeared to be under the influence and was placed into custody and transported to Randolph Health for evaluation. Warrants were obtained through the magistrate for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and Resist/Delay/Obstruct. On July 26, 2022, Hall was served his warrants and was given a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 27, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
