RANDLEMAN N.C. - A man who was arrested on an outstanding warrant received an additional larceny charge after deputies say he stole a pair of cuffs from the patrol car he was being held in. On October 20th, 2023, a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to Camellia Ln., in Randleman, for a report of an assault. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, the responding deputy met with the caller, Jeffrey Corum, and discovered he had an outstanding warrant for felony charges. Corum was escorted to the location of the assault in the patrol vehicle and asked to stay in the car while the deputy spoke to the parties involved. TRINITY N.C. - A driver is facing felony drug charges and misdemeanor DUI and gun charges after police say they found him and his passenger asleep at an intersection in a running vehicle. On October 20th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to the intersection of NC Hwy 62 and Surrett Dr., in Trinity, for a welfare check on a vehicle stopped at an intersection with the driver slumped over at the wheel. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, when the deputy approached the vehicle they smelled the "strong odor of marijuana and alcohol emitting from the vehicle and an open bottle of alcohol was observed in the backseat of the vehicle." On August 20th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 85 north near mile marker 109, in Trinity. During that stop, officers say they located approximately forty-four pounds of cocaine in the "trunk area" of the vehicle. ASHEBORO N.C. - Charges are stacking up against a suspect with several active warrants who fled on foot from deputies and was located hiding in a crawlspace by a police K9. According to a press release, on July 13th, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detective in the area of Erect Rd., Seagrove, observed a male subject acting suspicious. Upon the detective pulling into the driveway of the residence the male fled on foot. The detective was advised that the male was James Henry Bolton-McKee, who had active warrants for his arrest. On July 7th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Criminal Interdiction Team and Randleman Police Department, concluded an investigation relating to the distribution of narcotics in Randolph County. That investigation led to police obtaining a search warrant for a home on E. Naomi Street in Randleman. According to a police report from the department, on June 28th, 2023, the VICE/Narcotics along with members of the Special Enforcment Team executed a search warrant at Summer Run apartments located at 2159 N. Fayetteville St. That search led to police seizing 145 grams of cocaine, US Currency, and drug paraphernalia. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man who had the police called on him for banging on the doors of a closed business asked police for a ride and was arrested when police say they located drugs on him. On June 18th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Spanish Ln., in Asheboro, after a caller reported a male was banging on the doors of the business even though it was after hours, and they were closed. Deputies didn’t locate the male on the property but canvassed the area for the suspect, locating him on US Hwy 220 S. sitting on the ground. ASHEBORO N.C. - A traffic stop by the Asheboro Police Department's Special Enforcment Team (SET), lead to the arrest of an Asheboro man on drug trafficking charges last week. On Thursday May 4th, 2023, Officers with the Asheboro Police Department's Special Enforcement Team (SET) along with officers from the Vice/ Narcotics division initiated a traffic stop of a wanted suspect near the intersection of S Cox St and E Salisbury St. According to a police report from the department, as a result of that traffic stop Mr. Timothy Fore was arrested on an outstanding warrant for allowing an unlicensed driver, aid and abet, and driving with license revoked.
