ASHEBORO N.C. – Two men from California were arrested this week after deputies with the Sheriff’s Office stopped their Tractor Trailer on I-85.
On November 21, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Highway Criminal Interdiction
Team pulled over a Tractor Trailer registered out of California on I-85 in Archdale. During that traffic stop, a K-9 alerted and a deputies searched the truck where according to a press release approximately 230 pounds of marijuana was located and seized.
Da Hu and Hailiang Hu, both from California, were placed under arrest and transported to
Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause to charge both
with two counts of Felony Trafficking in Marijuana. They each received a $200,000 secured
bond with a first appearance scheduled for November 22, 2022, in Randolph County District
Court.
