Grand Jury Indicts Man for Felony Sex Crimes with Minor

ASHEBORO N.C. – The Grand Jury has indicted a local man for multiple felonies involving sexual crimes with a minor.

On December 29, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding allegations of sexual offenses involving minors. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Christopher Lee Clark for two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts felony disseminate obscenity, six counts felony first degree statutory sex offense, and misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 years of age. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued the warrants.

On January 26, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team located Clark in Greensboro. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate issued a $500,000 total secured bond plus electronic house arrest. A first appearance was set for January 27, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.

During the February session of the Randolph County Grand Jury, a True Bill of Indictment was issued on Christopher Lee Clark for the original charges served on January 26, 2023, for two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts felony disseminate obscenity, six counts felony first degree statutory sex offense, and misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 years of age. The indictment was issued as a result of the investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.

On February 16, 2023, Clark, currently confined at the Randolph County Detention Center, was served his True Bill of Indictment out of Randolph County. He was issued an additional $700,000 secured bond and a court date has been scheduled for February 20, 2023, in Randolph County Superior Court.
