Sheriff’s Office Arrests Three Individuals Caught Stealing at Construction Site

ASHEBORO NC – The Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged three people for allegedly stealing items from a construction site in Trinity this week.

On March 28, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of School Road and Trinity Road, in Trinity after receiving a call about a possible larceny/theft.

When deputies arrived, they located a vehicle with three occupants at the construction site. The occupants were identified as Ronnie Dale Tate, Jr., Scott Russell Leonard, and Morgan Lindsey Davidson.

The suspects were detained for an investigation which according to the Sheriff’s Office uncovered evidence that the occupants were attempting to steal items from the premises after two catalytic converters were located in the back of the truck.

All three subjects were arrested, charged, and transported to the Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for felony conspiracy, felony larceny from a construction site, and felony possession of catalytic converters.

Leonard was also charged with misdemeanor resist/delay/obstruct due to not cooperating with law-enforcement while at the Randolph County Detention Center.

Davidson was charged for felony possession of a controlled substance on a jail premise after locating drugs on her person during the booking process.

The magistrate also found probable cause for these charges and issued a $5,000 secured bond for Ronnie Tate and Scott Leonard. Morgan Davidson was issued a $2,000 secured bond.

All parties were given a court date for March 28, 2023, in the Randolph County District Court.
