Local Man Wanted for B&E and Larceny Located and Arrested

ASHEBORO NC - A local man with several warrants for breaking and entering and larceny was located and arrested by police last weekend. On March 25th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Russell Walker Ave, in Randleman, after hearing a wanted suspect they were attempting to locate was in the area. When deputies arrived, they say they observed Ethan Wayne Stanley fleeing on foot. He was located hiding under an outbuilding and arrested. According to the Sheriff's Office, during a search following the arrest, marijuana and paraphernalia were in his possession. Stanley was issued a citation for marijuana before being transported to the Randolph County jail, where methamphetamine was located during the booking process. Surveyor Working in North Asheboro Robbed at Gunpoint

ASHEBORO N.C. - A surveyor working in North Asheboro earlier this week was robbed at gunpoint according to police. According to a report by the Asheboro Police Department on March 20th, 2023, at 11:57pm, officers responded to Ravenwood Dr located in the Franklin Village Mobile Home Park off North Fayetteville St in North Asheboro after receiving a report of a robbery. Officers spoke with the victim who stated he was working as a surveyor in the area for USIC, an underground utility company. The worker told police he was approached by two white males who pulled out a gun and held him at gunpoint while they stole several personal items and a bookbag containing survey equipment. Randolph Health Lifts Universal Masking Requirements

ASHEBORO NC - On March 28, 2023, at 7:00 a.m., all Randolph Health facilities will lift universal masking requirements for patients, visitors, and team members. In a press release, Randolph Health says the decision to make masks optional was made in collaboration with other regional healthcare systems, including Novant Health, Atrium Health, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, CaroMont Health, and Cone Health. Masks were required during the COVID-19 pandemic and flu season, with this change everyone should consider their personal risk when considering masking up. Asheboro Police VICE/Narcotics Make Arrest Following Search Warrant

ASHEBORO NC - A local man is in jail awaiting a court date after being arrested last week following a search warrant at a home in Asheboro. On March 22nd, 2023, the Asheboro Police Departments VICE/ Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Asheboro. During that search police say they located approximately 17.2 grams of crack cocaine, Suboxone strips, assorted drug paraphernalia, and $336. 92 in US currency. The homeowner, identified by police as Reginald Cleve Dunn was arrested and transported to the Randolph County where he was taken before &magistrate who found probable cause for his arrest for multiple drug related charges and was given a $50,000 secured bond. Man Found Unconscious in Sophia Driveway Charged for Driving There in Stolen Car

ASHEBORO N.C. - A man found unconscious and laying in a driveway is facing charges after police say he drove there in a stolen vehicle. On January 13th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Mill Race Ct., in Sophia, after receiving a call about a possible overdose. The caller reported a male subject was unconscious in the driveway of the residence. When Deputies arrived, they say they located Robert Crumpton, unconscious and lying in the driveway. Deputies cleared the scene for Randolph County EMS who responded to the scene to render aid. The cost of the classes is $225.00. Participants must meet and pass all prerequisites set by the American Red Cross. These include being a minimum age of 15, and being able to complete a 300-meter swim, the retrieval and return of a 10-pound object from an 8-foot depth, and a 2-minute tread without the use of hands. Suspect Wanted in 3 Counties Arrested on Traffic Stop

ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect who was wanted in three separate counties in connection with larceny charges was arrested on a traffic stop earlier this week. On March 20, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a vehicle that matched the description of a suspect vehicle in a recent larceny investigation and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kennedy Rd., Trinity. Upon approaching the driver’s side, the deputy recognized the driver as the same suspect in that incident. The Sheriff's Office says the driver initially gave a false name but was later identified as Shavon Melissa Kennedy.
