ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and the Moore County Sheriff's Office used a K9 to locate and arrest a wanted suspect in Seagrove last week. On February 2nd, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division Detectives and Criminal Interdiction Team responded to Little Brook Rd. in Seagrove after receiving a request to assist the Moore County Sheriff's Office in locating Corey Tyler Hussey. Hussey was wanted on several outstanding warrants by both agencies, which had been working together on several cases involving Hussey who was accused of committing larcenies in both counties. ASHEBORO N.C. - A convicted felon is back in jail after brandishing a gun during an argument before fleeing the scene when 911 was called. On January 19, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a family fight on Kerr Drive, in Randleman. When deputies arrived they were told that Phillip Andrew Hess had come to the house and an argument ensued. During that argument police say that Hess was told to leave and refused before brandishing a firearm and verbally threatening the residents. The victim told police that when they called 911 Hess dropped the handgun and fled on foot. Responding deputies attempted to locate Hess but were unsuccessful. ASHEBORO N.C. - Asheboro Police Departments VICE/Narcotics unit conducted a search warrant on a home last Wednesday that landed 2 people in jail and located drugs as well as several stolen guns and a stolen vehicle. According to a police report from the Asheboro Police Department on Wednesday Jan 26th 2022 the VICE/Narcotics team along with the Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Department’s SWAT team conducted a search warrant on a home at 640 Tucker St in Asheboro. Police say they seized suspected cocaine, crack, and marijuana along with two stolen firearms. Police also say they located a stolen vehicle at the home. For birds, Avian flu is a highly contagious viral disease that can affect several species of birds, including domestic poultry and wild birds. ASHEBORO N.C. - A call about possible drug activity led police to locating a suspect who had fled on foot and escaped earlier in the day. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on January 21st, 2022, a deputy in the area of Hwy 64 E near Asheboro observed a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle stolen from Old Cox Rd reported stolen on December 29th, 2021. The Sheriff’s Office says the deputy followed the vehicle to the Dollar General on US Hwy 64 E, where police say the suspect fled on foot.Additional deputies and a K-9 were dispatched to help locate the suspect but the K9 lost the scent on Loflin Pond Road. ASHEBORO N.C. — As fast as it came, it left. After a week of unusually warm weather, rain, strong winds and the first snowfall of the year brought headaches throughout Randolph County. The system responsible for todays snow was expected to drop some wintery mix mostly in the northern parts of the triad turned out to be stronger than expected according to Scotty Powell, a Meteorologist with Carolina Weather Group. "So the precipitation was a little heavier which allowed colder air to the surface. So that is why some areas was able to see snow that wasn't necessarily supposed to" said Powell. ASHEBORO N.C. — A convicted felon was arrested yesterday in Thomasville in connection with a November assault where the Sheriff’s Office says the he broke into a home, assaulted the victim, and tied them up. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says in a press release that on November 17th 2021, their deputies were called to a home on Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd. in Asheboro after getting a call from a victim who said they had escaped being tied up at the home. The victim stated they knew the suspect and identified him as Kevin Andrew Blue. According to police Blue broke into the home, assaulted the victim and tied them up.
