Murder Suspect Arrested After High Speed Chase

ASHEBORO NC - A murder suspect is in custody leading police on a high-speed chase through Randolph County overnight. According to a press release by the Asheboro Police Department, on Sunday, March 25, 2021, at 2:09 AM, officers were dispatched to 340 Brookside Drive in Asheboro for a call about an unknown medical situation. When officers arrived they discovered 55-year-old Sherrie Shaw deceased in the residence. Investigators with Asheboro Police Dept began a homicide investigation.  Relatively quickly Investigators were able to determine a possible suspect and vehicle. Local Man Charged With Animal Cruelty After Dead Dogs Found

ASHEBORO NC - A Randolph County man has been charged with multiple felonies for animal cruelty after police found 4 dogs who died from starvation on his property.  On April 14, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was called to Kings Mountain Rd. in Asheboro to help Randolph County Animal Services who were checking on animals at a residence.  Animal Services told deputies they had seen at least one dog deceased in a kennel and multiple dogs that appeared to be extremely malnourished inside the home when they looked in the window. According to information from the Randolph County Sherriff's Office the owner of the dogs, Michael Thomas Hamilton, Jr., had not been seen since Friday, April 9th. ASHEBORO NC. - A local man was arrested under felony child pornography charges after police executed a search warrant on his home in Seagrove.  According to an press release the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office's Criminal Investigation Division Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) received information that an individual by the they identified as Robbie Ray Snider was possessing/distributing numerous child pornography files. Robbie Ray Snider On April 21, 2021, a search warrant was executed at Snider’s home on Dunlap Dr., in Seagrove, NC. ASHEBORO NC- Deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff's office arrested a couple in the parking lot of the Sherriff's office in Archdale Office last Thursday. According to information from the Sherriff's office, on April 15, 2021, deputies encountered a vehicle in the parking lot of the satellite Sheriff’s Office in Archdale. The female driver, who police identified as Stephanie Kay Shackleford, was yelling and appeared to be impaired. The passenger, whom police identified as Jason Wayne Moss, was found to have a warrant for Failure to Appear on charges of Obtaining Property by False Pretense and Misdemeanor Larceny and was placed under arrest. ASHEBORO NC - A man is facing charges after police say they found him passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle with a gun in his lap. According to information posted by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, on April 12, 2021, the deputies responded to assist troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in reference to a male driver who was passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the area of US HWY 311 in Sophia.When officers arrived they say the found the man passed out behind the wheel with a firearm in his lap. ASHEBORO NC - A Florida man is in jail after kidnapping a woman at gunpoint and leading police in a high-speed chase vehicle chase Saturday afternoon. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, at around 1:42 PM, a 31-year-old female was kidnapped at gunpoint while sitting in a vehicle on Coleridge Rd in Asheboro. The suspect who police identified as 32-year-old Manuel Jesus Robles from Ocala, Florida, allegedly "forced the woman into a vehicle owned by the victim, which had been stolen earlier" according to a statement issued by the department.
