ASHEBORO N.C. - Asheboro Cultural & Recreation Services has announced a date for this year's Easter Eggstravaganza. The annual Easter Eggstravaganza is a free family friendly event hosted by the City of Asheboro's Cultural & Recreation Services. Children ages 1-10 can participate to find eggs with a special appearance from the Easter Bunny and goody bags for everyone. This year the event is scheduled for Saturday, April 9th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Bicentennial Park in downtown Asheboro. The event will be held rain or shine. Please note that parents are asked to remain outside of the egg hunt area while children are collecting the eggs. (CITY OF ASHEBORO)- The Asheboro Cultural and Recreation Services Department is providing Blended Learning American Red Cross Lifeguard Training throughout the spring, in preparation for the summer. The cost of the classes are $225.00. Participants must meet and pass all prerequisites set by the American Red Cross. These include being a minimum age of 15, and being able to complete a 300 meter swim, the retrieval and return of a 10 pound object from an 8 foot depth, and a 2 minute tread without the use of hands. The Asheboro Randolph Chamber of Commerce is offering cash prizes as high as $500 for the best Christmas light display in four different categories. ASHEBORO, NC – Asheboro's Cultural & Recreation Services announced they will be holding the 1st annual Asheboro Gifting Tree Project. "Stroll through Bicentennial Park as it is transformed into a dazzling Christmas tree display. Local businesses, religious organizations, non-profits, schools, service clubs, and individuals/families decorate their tree in a competition to win a donation (provided by Modern Toyota) to the nonprofit group of their choice" said Cultural & Recreation Services in a press release. The North Carolina Zoo will host their annual Halloween event “Boo at the NC Zoo” two weekends in October this year. Boo will be held Saturdays and Sundays on Oct. 16, 17, 23, and 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all days. Boo at the NC Zoo is a family-friendly daytime event and socially distanced for everyone's fun and safety. There will be trick-or-treating at stations throughout the park, a souvenir bag, live entertainment, animal encounters, Halloween-themed photos, and costume contests.
