The Town of Ramsuer says in a public notice that the Board of Commissioners Special will hold a special Meeting-Tuesday December 13th, 2022, at 6:30 pm about "Issues Related to the Water Leak at the Old Water Plant". ASHEBORO N.C. - The North Carolina Zoo is offering free admission to residents of Moore County affected by the recent power outages. According to the Moore County Edition of the North State Journal on Saturday, Dec. 3, Moore County saw two substations attacked, leaving over 40,000 customers without power. Just after 7 pm, customers across Moore County started seeing power outages. As utility companies sent our crews, they found evidence that indicated that intentional vandalism had occurred at multiple sites. Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said at a Sunday news conference in Carthage that authorities have not determined a motivation. ASHEBORO N.C. (RCC) — Since the retirement of longtime President Dr. Robert S. Shackleford Jr., Randolph Community College has been undergoing the extensive process that is a presidential search. Part of that process is gleaning opinions and ideas from the Randolph County community.  The Board of Trustees is inviting residents to complete a survey or participate in one of two forums. The input from the survey and forums will be utilized to build the RCC Presidential Profile.  The survey responses are anonymous, and the total responses will be aggregated and used in the College’s solicitation, review, and evaluation of applicants. Timing After moving into Florida, Nicole will eventually turn northeastward and move up across the Carolinas with impacts expected to be felt locally as soon as Thursday afternoon. ASHEBORO N.C. - Forecasters with the National Weather Service are keeping a close eye on Subtropical Storm Nicole as forecast models show the storm on track to impact the south-east coast by the end of the week. Subtropical Storm Nicole is currently located 465 miles to the north and west of the east of Bahamas and is expected to reach the Florida's coast by Wednesday night. The storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane prior to landfall which is currently projected somewhere along the east-central Florida coast either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. On October 24th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release that their K-9 Unit had been nominated for the Aftermath K9 Grant. Aftermath Services describes itself as "the premier provider of trauma cleaning and biohazard remediation" on its website. The company's K9 Grant is making $15,000 available to law enforcement, EMS, or other public safety agencies for the creation, maintenance, or growth of a K9 unit.
