This morning at around 10 a.m. emergency crews from Guil-Rand and Sophia Fire Departments along with Randolph County EMS responded to I-74 E near Cedar Square Rd for a report of a vehicle off the roadway. At around 5:40 p.m. on July 22nd, 2023, emergency crews responded to I-73/74 Southbound, near the Pineview exit, for an injured person in the roadway. One person was transported from the scene with critical injuries to a local trauma center. Investigators are on the scene now and traffic delays are expected in the area. This is a developing story. Just after midnight on July 5th, 2023, Fire crews from Randleman, Sophia, Level Cross, and Westside Fire Departments were dispatched along with Randolph County EMS to a report of a house fire on Allred Way. Crews arrived to find a home nearly fully involved. Fire crews responded to a fully involved house fire on Allred Way in Randleman early in the morning hours of July 5th, 2023. On June 24, 2023, at 11:23 PM, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to a report of gunshots fired in the 800 block of Salem Court. Randolph County 911 advised responding officers that multiple people had been shot. Three victims were found at the scene and transported by EMS to a local medical facility. Just after 3pm on June 15th, 2023, police, fire, and EMS were dispatched to Bicentennial Park in downtown Asheboro for a report of a stabbing. One victim was located near the fountain, bleeding, and was treated and then transported from the scene by EMS. Their condition is not known currently. FRANKLINVILLE N.C. - A head on collision on US 64 claimed the life of a Franklinville resident on Wednesday afternoon. Just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, emergency crews responded to a vehicle crash on US 64 near Iron Mountain Road. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Wanda Cox Allred, 74, of Franklinville, N.C., was traveling west on US 64 operating a 2019 Honda CR-V when a driver of a 2006 Mercedes Benz crossed the centerline, striking her vehicle head-on. Allred died on-scene. The driver of the Mercedes Benz suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
